Why it matters

In Miami, the AC isn't a comfort extra. It controls heat and humidity in your home almost every day of the year, and it works harder here than in most of the country. That constant load is why parts wear out and small problems turn into breakdowns.

Common AC problems we fix

  • AC not cooling or blowing warm air: often a failed capacitor, a refrigerant leak, a dirty coil or a fan motor problem.
  • Water leaking from the air handler: usually a clogged condensate drain line. Algae grows fast in Miami's humidity.
  • Frozen coil or ice on the lines: low airflow from a dirty filter or coil, or low refrigerant.
  • AC won't turn on: a tripped float switch, a thermostat issue, or an electrical part such as a contactor.
  • Short cycling: the system turns on and off too often, wasting power and wearing out parts.
  • Strange noises or smells: rattling, buzzing, squealing or a burning smell.

How we handle repairs

We diagnose first and show you what's wrong. You get the price before any repair, and nothing is replaced without your OK. If the system is old and the repair cost doesn't make sense, we'll tell you honestly and explain your replacement options.

Dirty ducts and vents can also cut airflow and make the system work harder. If we see that, we'll mention it. See air duct cleaning.

FAQ

AC Repair questions

Why is my AC running but not cooling?

Common causes are a failed capacitor, low refrigerant from a leak, a dirty evaporator or condenser coil, a clogged filter or a fan motor problem. We'll diagnose it and give you the repair price before we fix anything.

Why is water leaking from my AC?

Usually the condensate drain line is clogged, often with algae, which grows quickly in Miami's humidity. We clear the line and check the drain pan and float switch.

Should I repair or replace my AC?

It depends on the age of the system, the cost of the repair and how often it's broken down. We'll give you both numbers so you can decide.

What are your hours?
