Why it matters

Your AC runs almost all year in Miami. That means more dust on the coils, more algae in the drain line and more wear on parts than systems in cooler climates. A tune-up keeps everything clean and working, lowers your power bill and helps the system last longer.

How often?

For Miami homes, we recommend a tune-up twice a year, or at least once before the hottest months. Homes with pets, allergies or heavy use benefit most.

Signs your AC needs a tune-up

  • Higher power bills with no change in use
  • The house takes longer to cool down
  • The AC runs constantly
  • Musty smell or water around the air handler
  • It's been more than a year since the last service

Pair your tune-up with air duct cleaning or AC vent cleaning for cleaner air from the whole system.

FAQ

HVAC Maintenance & Tune-Up questions

How often should I service my AC in Miami?

Twice a year is ideal because the AC runs almost all year. At minimum, once a year before summer.

What's included in a tune-up?

We check and clean the coils, flush the condensate drain line, check or replace the filter, check refrigerant levels, test electrical parts and capacitors, and check the thermostat and airflow.

Does maintenance really lower my power bill?

Clean coils, a clear drain line and a fresh filter let the system cool with less effort, which usually means lower energy use.
